The Insect-a-Clear 2000 GLU-90 has been designed for areas where conventional fly control units using high voltage killing grids are considered unsuitable. The flying insects are attracted to the GLU-90 using a well proven UV light source. As they enter the machine and come into contact with the adhesive coated replaceable trays, the flying insects are permanently captured. Once the trays are full they can be quickly and hygienically replaced. The GLU-90 tray design ensures that unsightly captured insects cannot easily be seen from the ground. When internal tray inspection by a pest control operator or hygiene manager is required, the fly species can be instantly identified and monitored. The UV light source on the GLU-90 has not been restricted in any way by the use of plastic diffusers etc. which is most important when attracting flying insects. During testing, it was found that the fly catch significantly increased when a horizontal surface was made available for the insects to land on. This was taken into consideration when designing the tray.
